1985, July~ Workshop Colm Wilkinson, Sarah Brightman, Clive Carter, David Bent. The first ever workshop performance of the show, presented at Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sydmonton Festival, held at his country home in Hampshire UK. First act (all that was performed EXTREMELY RARE! Yes, this is actually a video of the entire Sydmonton workshop. Unfortunately, the quality isn't very good at all. The tape is dark, black and white, and has a green digital glitching over it. (See these screencaps. And that's one of the better shots of the video!). The audio has VERY heavy static, buzzing and crackling. I'd recommend it ONLY if you are a DIE HARD Phantom fan and understand what you're getting! (Oddly enough, there's also a half-hour MTV special called "A New Madonna: The Making of Evita" about the Evita film with Madonna on the DVD afterwards. This portion is excellent quality).

BROADWAY
1988, April Broadway Michael Crawford, Sarah Brightman, Steve Barton The original Broadway cast! The audio is very good quality (considering the age of this recording). This is a great performance, however the picture is quite dark and there are not many close close-ups. There are a few jumps and some entire scenes are cut out such as Magical Lasso.
2003, Aug. 9th Broadway Hugh Panaro, Sandra Joseph, John Cudia, Jeff Keller, George Lee Andrews, Patricia Phillips, Marilyn Caskey, Larry Wayne Morbitt, Joelle Gates Lovely cast. Sandra is the probably best I've seen her, Hugh is spectacular, and John makes such a perfect Raoul. Head blocking kind of gets a little annoying at times. Other than that, good quality.
2004, June 28th Broadway Howard McGillin, Julie Hanson (alt), John Cudia, Jeff Keller, George Lee Andrews, Kris Koop (u/s), Larry Wayne Morbitt, Marilyn Caskey, Heather McFadden Full show. Howard filling as Phantom while Hugh was on vacation. Good quality video, but tends to stray and has quite a bit of head obstruction.

Brilliant show, can't say enough good things about it. Hugh is outstanding as the Phantom and his chemistry with Sandra Joseph is fantastic. Clear picture, sound, and closeups. Full curtain call & Sandra's heartfelt farewell speech is also included.

2008, Aug. 28th ~ Las Vegas Anthony Crivello, Elizabeth Loyacano, Elena Jeanne Batman, Tim Martin Gleason, John Wolfe, Lawson Skala, Rebecca Spencer, Brianne Morgan, Larry Morbitt The performances were great, and I have to say I really enjoyed the trimmed down show. It doesn't drag at all, it hits all the marks; and other than a couple songs being shorter, I really didn't notice anything missing. Including two minutes of battery change in "Notes," there are about 4 minutes of blackness. A-
